The RC Bible App is built to support your daily spiritual journey through Bible study, reading plans, and community engagements. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your data when using the RC Bible app, whether as an authenticated member or a guest.
1. Information We Collect
To provide a personalized, high-quality scriptural experience, we collect the following types of information:
- Profile & Authentication: If you sign in via Google or Firebase Auth, we collect your name, email address, avatar, and authentication tokens to securely sync your profile settings. Full guest session access is supported without an account.
- Bible Reading & Study Data: We collect your saved verses/bookmarks, and custom journaling entries/diary notes linked to calendar dates.
- Reading Plans & Progress: We track checkmarks, progress, calendar streaks, and dates for active plans (such as the 365-Day Bible, 90-Day New Testament, 40-Day Lenten Journey, and 21-Day Psalms of Comfort).
- Statistics & Analytics: We measure active reading screen time (daily, weekly, monthly duration) and trends, which are processed to generate visual circular SVG reading meters.
- Gamified Learning & Quizzes: We collect scores, completion rates, and historical statistics from multiple-choice trivia quizzes.
- FCM & Notification Details: We save your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens and timezone to deliver scheduled daily verse cards, reading plan reminders, and push notifications.
- Audio Bible Streams: When streaming audio bible chapters, standard technical logging occurs to ensure reliable streaming playback.
2. How Your Information Is Used
We use your data to power features directly related to your spiritual study and app usage:
- To keep your journal notes, reading streaks, bookmarks, and plans synced across all your devices.
- To calculate your reading time achievements and active progress charts.
- To provide daily automated notifications, verse reminders, and localized reminders matching your timezone.
- To present deterministic daily verses based on calendar randomizers.
- To analyze quiz scores and improve learning configurations.
3. Data Sharing & Third-Parties
No Commercial Sharing: Your scriptures, bookmarks, and private journal entries are completely private. We never sell or share your personal data with advertising companies or other third-party services.
Storage & Security: All user profiles, notes, plans, and tokens are stored securely in encrypted databases and transmitted over HTTPS.
4. Account & Data Deletion
You have full authority over your data. You can request deletion at any time:
- In-App: Go to Profile > Settings > Delete Account.
- Upon deletion, your profile, journal notes, saved verses, reading plans, and stats will be permanently and immediately removed from our databases.
